There are three issues in quality camouflage: Concealment, Comfort and Durability. If any one of these is missing, it isn't quality hunting gear. We believe that Fall Gray is the finest concealment for the widest variety of hunting situations. For one of the clearest discussion of how camo really works, see the Informal Camo Study. All Items are offered in Predator Fall Gray Camo Pattern All Predator Camouflage fabrics are manufactured without UV
brighteners. We scanned these drawings so that you wouldn't have
to wait long to see what the items looked like. Obviously, the
actual garments look a whole lot neater in real life.
Both the 6 Pocket Pants and the Bowhunter Jacket are 9 oz.
100% cotton preshrunk sueded vat-dyed twill. This means they
are durable and quiet. All colors are vat dyed making these garments
much more colorfast than most high detail type camo. Adjustable
waist; seven belt loops; two front slash pockets; two large front
cargo pockets and two rear patch pockets with flap and button
closure; zippered front; drawstring cuffs; all stress points
are flat-felt seamed or bar-tacked for extra strength!
Great way to get started with Fall Gray! Specially designed
for bow hunting with a bi-swing back for better arm movement.
Deep hand warmer pockets; two front cargo pockets and one inside
pocket, all with flap-and-button closure; knit cuffs; long cut
to keep everything covered whether you sit or bend! The finest
bunting jacket you can buy!
Stealthtex has been specially designed for Predator, Inc. It is tough, very burr resistant, breathable, very colorfast, doesn't shrink, is extremely soft, quiet and lightweight. It is much like fleece, but less fuzzy. It also seems to be quieter. The Ultra 200 insulation is 20% warmer than the popular 200 gram Thinsulate in most top of the line insulated garments. If you really need to stay warm... or you don't know what the weather will be like on your long awaited out of town hunt, this is the garment for you. The insulated parka and bibs also incorporate Comfortmax IB, a remarkable inner layer wind, cold and moisture barrier. Thin and strong, it has superior breathability, dries quickly and weighs next to nothing. This layer by itself helps to create a considerably warmer garment. Comfortmax IB is a lot like GORE-TEX. It is very waterproof. However, we don't rate the parka as waterproof because Comfortmax IB is quilted in. The quilting makes it quieter than the Cabela's GORE-TEX parka I own (which sort of crinkles when I move). However, the quilting also puts little holes in the membrane. Obviously how wet you get depends on how saturated the parka is. Not very much water is going to go through the little holes. If you are in a misty rain, you'll stay very comfortable, in a week long downpour... those little holes may matter. My 100% waterproof clothes seem much noisier than the Stealthtex and to be honest, though I've tried to get out hunting in every rain storm we've had, it never seems to rain hard enough to really push water through the Comfortmax IB (or it gets cold and snows). Bottom line, if I find a better parka, I'll let you know. If you know of one, drop me a line. The parka has Raglan sleeves for nonbinding movement; heavy-duty two way front zipper with storm flap; knit cuffs; large front insulated hand warmer pockets; fleece lined monk style hood with drawstring.
The insulated bib has the same overall construction as the Stealthtex insulated parka. I am really impressed with the feel of Stealthtex. It is very soft and quiet. This is considerably more comfortable than the Cabela's Whitetail parka I have (shown in the study). It is also a lot warmer. The Ultra 200 insulation is incredibly warm. I was just out in 20F with only street pants and the bibs were much warmer than the competitive parka rated to -10F. Adjustable shoulder straps; heavy-duty two-way front and hip length zippers; two slash pockets and two large cargo pockets and two rear pockets; all with flap-and-button closure. If you think you might be sitting for a while, this bib is for you! When I first tried the bibs, I wondered why the leg zippers went up so high and if I could really use the deep warm pockets (since my parka pretty much covered them up. I found that I could unzip the pants from the top without undoing the boot snaps and get great ventilation as I walked out to my stand. It works much better than trying to open them up from the bottom and then fumbling with everything in the dark. The pockets... they are well worth finding for your fingers.
I have always struggled to keep my hands warm. These are the
best solution I have ever found. It may take some bunching of
the parka, but I will never have cold fingers again!
